Givens Books is the oldest bookstore in Lynchburg! This family owned business started in an old gas station in 1976 and has continued to grow and entertain. In 1999, the store merged with Little Dickens, a toy store owned by the founders’ son. Now, the two co-exist in a 16,000 square foot space jam packed with toys, books, teaching supplies and more!
This store has something for the whole family. Their children’s area is packed with toys, educational games and, of course, books, hand picked to please your little one. For young adults, the staff takes great care in curating a selection that stays on top of current trends. Adults can meet with local authors at one of their many book signings and events! No matter your book style, Givens has something for you.
Lose yourself among the shelves of new and used books, but once you have finished browsing be sure to stop by the Drowsy Poet Cafe, right inside the store, and order a Milton milkshake.
