Lynchburg is home to some spectacular views. Between the James River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, there is something that everyone can appreciate. But, why not appreciate your view while dining? Here are some of the best restaurants with views around the city.

Not only does El Jefe have a view of the Bluffwalk, you can also choose a table outside on the Bluffwalk in the warm weather months! Enjoy the selection of tacos, quesadillas and house made margaritas in the open air with full view of the James River and Blue Ridge Mountains. Dogs are welcome to join your table at the outdoor seating area.

Enjoy some of the most eclectic burgers in the city with one of the best views of the Bluffwalk and the James River. In the summer, Bootleggers opens up their garage-like doors to let the warm night air in, but the atmosphere is enjoyable year-round. The restaurant is themed around an-old fashioned speakeasy, and the drink selection does not disappoint.

This hand-tossed, fire-baked pizza restaurant is nestled right by the Blackwater Creek Trail, and the outdoor dining area provides a great view of both the trail and passing trains. Eating pizza outside while a train rolls by is sure to delight any kids you may have with you!
The Water Dog
The Water Dog’s laidback atmosphere offers outdoor patio seating that looks across Riverfront Park and the spray ground. Go on a warm day and you’ll find Riverfront Park alive with activities, dogs, bikers, and more!
The Farm Basket
Enjoy an artisan sandwich and homemade iced tea next to the peaceful trickling waters of Blackwater Creek. The Farm Basket’s outdoor back porch and grassy patio make for a perfect picnic lunch break.
7 Rooftop Bar
Relax and unwind at 7 Rooftop Bar. Perched high above the Bluffwalk and the James River, you’ll catch spectacular views of the city, Riverfront Park, and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.

Located right next to the Downtown train tracks, Depot Grille offers a great view of the Langley Fountain’s 15-foot water spout coming up from the James River. The building is packed with historical memorabilia, such as the antique railroad prints that cover the small private dining room and the hand-built model train that resides in the main dining area.
Perhaps the most stunning restaurant view in the city is found at Skyline Grill, located on top of The Virginian Hotel. This contemporary rooftop bar offers a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails that can be enjoyed at one of the restaurant’s tables or at one of the couches in the lounge area. A selection of fire-roasted flatbreads, tapas, and grilled options are available.
