Day 1:
Get ready for a few days of R & R…. & R! After arriving in Lynchburg, check into your hotel or Bed & Breakfast and take a moment to unwind and freshen up. Once ready, Lynchburg offers an array of places to eat, from popular chains to a variety of independent restaurants you are sure to love. After a delicious dinner, take a stroll on Lynchburg’s Bluffwalk pedestrian walkway located in downtown to relish the views of the James River, Blue Ridge Mountains and public art on display or take in a show or concert to round out the evening. Afterward, satisfy that dessert or coffee craving before returning to your room to get a good night’s rest to prepare for tomorrow’s activities!
Day 2:
You have a full day ahead of you, so get started with a big breakfast! Don’t worry about the calories as you will burn them off at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. Enjoy a day of skiing, snowboarding and tubing on this innovative, all-weather slope that gives enthusiasts year-around winter sports enjoyment. Take a break in the Centre’s cozy lodge and warm up with a coffee or hot chocolate.
Now it’s time to fuel back up and partake in a more leisurely activity. Downtown Lynchburg offers numerous restaurants from gourmet tacos, Irish tearoom and Mediterranean options to fire roasted pizza and chef prepared tapas. While downtown, take in the shops and our Community Market where you will find unique and original holiday gifts and travel keepsakes. Antiques, jewelry, clothing, art and so much more await you!
Day 3:
After a hearty breakfast, take a step back in time and visit one of Lynchburg’s many historical sites such as Point of Honor. Also known as the “Mansion on the James”, it is currently the only historical house open to the public in Lynchburg. Once the residence of Dr. George Cabell, personal physician to Patrick Henry, this Federal style house has been lovingly restored to its 1800s glory. Remarkable at any time of year, the house is festively appointed during the holiday season. Before heading home, enjoy one last lunch at one of our local favorites.
Safe travels and thank you for visiting Lynchburg, Virginia!
