Heather Harris Recommends where to shop in LYH
With accessory design, furniture manufacturing, and retail experience, Heather and her husband Bobby launched Meanwhile Back On The Farm, a leather bag and accessory company featuring hand-sewn products from the finest organic materials. Take a shopping day and stop by Old Forest Rd. to see the bags being hand-sewn or shop their online store.
Best Place for Gifts
My go-to is the Boonsboro Shopping Center, with several shops to choose from in one spot. Shop for gifts at Paisley Gifts & Stationery, home furnishings at Renovative Home, or men’s clothing at R. Coffee Ltd. We like to finish our excursion with some BBQ at Pok-E-Joe’s or ice cream from MayLynn’s Creamery, with locations in Boonsboro or Downtown.
What is a Made in LYH product that everyone needs to know about?
One of my favorites to share with friends is Scratch Pasta, homemade pasta made by Stephanie Fees right here in LYH. The pasta makes for an excellent gift or meal to share and comes with recipes for tomato basil, garlic fusilli, squid ink campanelle, and even gluten-free. You can find Scratch Pasta online, at the Lynchburg Community Market, Everyday Sommelier, or the Farm Basket.
Shopping Day for Yourself in LYH, Where do You Go?
River Ridge Mall offers a great selection of stores all under one roof from big names to locally-owned and operated shops. I can find great deals at TJ Maxx or small, local stores like Alpaca by Jaca, a natural fibers boutique. The kids love it too with SeaQuest and Bounce About. I also love Empire Fleet Vintage and Live Trendy or Die for unique finds.
Be sure to check out Meanwhile Back on the Farm’s store location on Old Forest Rd. or their online store for the latest accessory and fashion trends!
