Day 1: All Kids love Pizza!
Pick the kids up from school on Friday and enjoy your trip to Lynchburg, Virginia. Upon arrival, settle into your lodging choice and get ready for a delicious dinner. Kids love pizza and Lynchburg has some of the best options around. From traditional to gourmet to fire-roasted, we know you will find a favorite. After dinner, enjoy a walk on Lynchburg’s Bluffwalk overlooking the James River with the city lights reflecting off the rolling waters. Then settle in for a good night’s sleep for a full day of exploring Lynchburg on day two.
Day 2: An Amazing Day!
Good morning! Whether your lodging choice provides breakfast or you dine at one of our many breakfast options, be sure to indulge in heartily to fortify your day. Afterwards, make your way to downtown where the kids can enjoy a day at our National Medal winning Amazement Square hands-on children’s museum. At Amazement Square you will find four floors of interactive exhibits designed to make learning fun. Kids are free to paint the walls in the creative room, generate a rainstorm, explore the best jungle gym ever, and practice their musical skills by creating their own band! It will be an awesome day full of discovery and excitement. We know it will be a late lunch, so stay close to resupply those energy reserves as choices abound in our walkable downtown. End the day relaxing and enjoying a film or testing your cognitive skills. The Academy of Center of Arts and Riverviews Artspace both present cinematic treasures throughout the year or you can test your family’s teamwork skills at one of Lynchburg’s escape rooms. Just like the video games but real!
Day 3: Munch and Learn
It was a full day yesterday so sleep in! Then start your Sunday with a decadent brunch. Lynchburg has many restaurants offering special brunch menus for an indulgent morning before heading home. But before you go, take some time to learn about your host city and our history at the Lynchburg Museum located in the Old Court House atop Monument Terrace. Inside you can explore three floors of exhibits that preserve the history and culture of Lynchburg and the surrounding area. Current exhibits include Lynchburg in World War I and Seven Hills of History telling the story of Lynchburg’s seven historic districts!
