Support your VA Bluebirds

Did you know by the 1970s habitat loss and the introduction of competitive species brought the bluebird population down by 90%? Be part of a statewide historic effort to rebuild Virginia’s bluebird population and sponsor a bluebird nest box along the trails at Ivy Creek Park. Purchase a bluebird box for your yard and one will be donated to replace an old box along the trail. Each box is of the “Carl Little” design with a double coat of clear water-based sealant. Register by 3/6. (Supplies for mounting your box are not included.)
Pick-up your box Thursday, March 10th between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Miller Center, Community Room. Stick around until 6:00 for a short presentation by a naturalist on where and how to mount your new box.
