There’s Plenty of Parking in Lynchburg, Virginia

Finding a place to park in Lynchburg’s Central Business District (or Downtown, as we call it) is easier than you might expect. Whether you’re exploring shops and restaurants, attending an event, or stopping by a museum, there are convenient and affordable options just steps away from where you want to be.

Downtown Parking Garages

Lynchburg’s five public parking garages are open 24/7 and are free to use in the evenings (after 5 p.m.) and on the weekends. During weekday business hours, you can pay via meter or kiosk at very reasonable rates.

Street Parking

Street parking is available throughout downtown with a mix of metered and time-limited spaces. Meters operate Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free on evenings, weekends, and city holidays.

Pay with coins or download the Passport Parking app to pay and manage your meter from your phone.

Accessible Parking

All garages and lots have designated ADA-compliant spaces. Downtown sidewalks and crosswalks are designed to be accessible for all visitors.

Event Parking

Attending a festival, show, or market? Event-specific signage and friendly volunteers will help direct you to available parking. The Downtown Lynchburg Association often provides parking maps and updates during large events.

Bikes, Scooters & Alternatives

Prefer to leave the car behind? Lynchburg has a growing network of greenways and trails, plus bike racks downtown. You’ll also find scooter share options and accessible sidewalks throughout downtown for easy walking.
