Looking for a place to enjoy live music in Lynchburg? Here are some great options throughout the city!  

Downtown:

• Academy Center of the Arts

Discover the heart of Lynchburg’s arts scene at the Academy Center of the Arts. Housed in the beautifully restored historic theater, the Academy hosts Broadway-style performances, concerts, comedy, films, art exhibitions, and hands-on creative experiences year-round.

• 3 Roads Brewing Co

3 Roads typically offers live music on Friday and Saturday nights. They also have other weekly events like Sunday karaoke and Wednesday night trivia. Check out their website and social media for updates! Grab a brew named after LYH and don’t forget to join in on some fun activities like bingo, trivia, or darts on certain nights of the week with Blue Ridge Darts.

• Starr Hill 

This regional brewery, located on Main Street, has the perfect view of Downtown. In the warmer months, be sure to try their booze slushies. Starr Hill regularly hosts events in their taproom. Check out their website to see their event calendar.

• Lynchburg Amphitheater at Riverfront Park

Set along the James River in the heart of Downtown, the Lynchburg Amphitheater at Riverfront Park is one of LYH’s newest outdoor entertainment venues. Throughout the season, the amphitheater hosts concerts, festivals, community events, and special performances featuring local, regional, and national artists. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, enjoy the riverfront setting, and check the event calendar for upcoming shows and live entertainment.

• 7 Rooftop Bar 

For a weeknight outing, visit 7 Rooftop Bar for Thursday night live music 6-8 PM. With the help of outdoor heaters, their patio remains open through the winter, allowing patrons to enjoy the bar’s rooftop view over the Bluffwalk year round.  

• Fratelli Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar

Looking for a midweek date night idea? Fratelli has Jazz Night every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., and you can enjoy half priced wine. For an early evening special Tuesday-Saturday, you can order a glass of wine or a beer, and a pizza for $15 until 6 p.m. Check it out here!

• Super Rad

Super Rad Arcade Bar regularly hosts local and touring musicians, making it a great spot to catch a show while enjoying classic arcade games, pinball, craft drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. • The Water Dog

The Water Dog is also a favorite spot for live music in LYH. Throughout the warmer months, enjoy performances from local and regional musicians while dining outdoors overlooking the James River. During the spring, summer, and most of fall, don’t miss Rosé Thursdays on Jefferson Street, featuring live local music, special rosé pricing, and (hopefully!) plenty of sunshine. • Dish

Known for their small plates and happy hours, this downtown restaurant also hosts regular live music events both free and ticketed. Check out their social media for all their weekly events! 

• Riverview Vinyl

In addition to selling new and used records and sound equipment, Riverview Vinyl also hosts shows in their shop at 901 Jefferson Street. Be sure to follow their social media to find out about upcoming events! Shows are ticketed, and usually range from $5-$10. 

• Madison House of the Arts

This local nonprofit is a creative space whose mission is to uplift our community through art. One of their regular events is Open Jam Recovery, which offers a safe space for those sober or in recovery wanting to play music & jam (ages 18+). Open Jam is a weekly occurrence and is usually held on weekend evenings from 7:30PM-10PM.

• Trailhead

Located in Downtown Lynchburg, Trailhead offers a welcoming atmosphere with craft beer, cocktails, and regular live music throughout the week. Their outdoor patio is a popular gathering spot to enjoy performances from local artists, making it an easy stop before or after walking the trials Downtown. • Reserve Winery and Lounge

• The Raven Lounge

• Rivermont Pizza

Rivermont Pizza is one of Lynchburg’s favorite pizza spots cooking up delicious and unique pizza combinations. They host a variety of events including live music events. Check out their social media for updates on their next event! 

• Palmera House

Music Mondays at Palmera House is the perfect way to unwind after a long day at work. Start your week off strong with live jazz music, wine, mocktails, and healthy bites.

• The Clubhouse

• Apocalypse Ale Works 

Apocalypse Ale Works has Friday Night Live, 7-10 p.m. every Friday, and Saturday Acoustic Sessions, 7-10 p.m. every Saturday. Enjoy live music and craft beer just a short drive out of the city!
