The Quakers who founded Lynchburg believed that all people were equal before God. But their integrity was challenged by the slave economy surrounding them. Learn more about their lives, their faith, and their legacy in this casual, 60-minute guided walking tour of the South River Meeting House and Burial Ground.

Tours are free, but reservations are required in advance. Call (434) 455–6226 or visit LynchburgMuseum.org/calendar to reserve your spot. Each tour is limited to 20 people. Tour includes walking through grass and irregular terrain, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tour Guide: Rebecca Pickard, NAI Certified Interpretive Guide

Where to Meet: Quaker Meeting House, 5810 Fort Avenue (Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church)

Parking: Free parking is available beside the Meeting House and Burial Ground
