First Fridays Mini-Exhibit – “Turn It Up: Sound Preservation from the Phonograph to the Cassette”

Join us for our special May First Fridays exhibit, “Turn It Up: Sound Preservation from the Phonograph to the Cassette.” This multimedia exhibit will feature technology from the phonograph to the cassette, with video and audio examples of multiple pieces. Artifacts on display include an Ediphone Dictaphone (with accompanying wax cylinder shaver), a McClure Picturephone, and a collection of records of the 1950s WLVA radio program “World of Books” presented by local bibliophile Clinton Balmer.
