Echoes on the Avenue Lantern Led Ghost Walk
September 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, repeating indefinitely

Step back in time and experience Lynchburg’s historic Rivermont corridor like never before. As twilight fades and the streetlights flicker to life, join us for Echoes on the Avenue, an exclusive, lantern-led walking tour that uncovers the hidden history, architectural marvels, and restless spirits woven into the fabric of the Hill City.
Our journey begins under the canopy of night at the historic Miller-Claytor House, one of Lynchburg’s oldest standing structures. By the warm glow of handheld lanterns, we will trace a path up the avenue, peeling back the layers of time along this storied thoroughfare. You’ll hear carefully researched accounts of the families, educators, and visionaries who shaped the neighborhood, alongside the eerie local legends and unexplained occurrences that still linger in the shadows of these grand historic homes.
The tour culminates amidst the striking, collegiate gothic architecture of the Randolph College campus, where decades of history—and perhaps a few lingering echoes of the past—await under the cover of darkness.
Duration: Approximately 90 minutes.
Walking Distance: Just under 1 mile (point-to-point). Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the evening weather.
Atmosphere: This is an outdoor, lantern-guided experience. Space is limited per tour to ensure an intimate, high-quality experience for all guests.
Discover what walks the avenue after dark. Secure your lantern before the spaces vanish into the night.
