Art Exhibition & Talk by Katie Hoffner Featuring the Work of Lydia Ruyle
March 26 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free
Curator, storyteller, and Sweet Briar alumna Katie Hoffner will present an exhibition of the work of her aunt, Lydia Ruyle, the visionary artist and scholar whose deeply researched and expansive Goddess banners reintroduce sacred feminine imagery from cultures around the world. In her talk, “Visualizing the Sacred Feminine: The Power of Image, Collective Memory, & Women’s Stories,” Hoffner will explore how these images shape cultural imagination and personal identity—particularly within the context of women’s education.
A reception will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. in the lobby of Benedict Hall before the talk begins at 7:30 p.m. in Tyson Auditorium on the Sweet Briar College campus.
