The staff are excellent, especially Emily K.!!! The museum is beautiful and the exhibits are top notch. Also, the building itself has so much character and charm.

Free.Very informative and attractive displays. Their exhibit on Lynchburg in WW1 was fascinating to me. Quite extensive exhibit on the history of firefighting & the city fire department. One caveat: this is not disability access friendly *as far as I could tell*. Lots of stair climbing. If you are disabled, you might wanna phone to find out. I'd love to learn that I just wasn't very observant.

You've got to take in account what this place is. It is not the Smithsonian. However they do a fantastic job with the Local history along with showcased exhibits. Beautiful building with interesting architecture. Check out the gargoyles.

Love American history! Very unique town with a great history! The town of Lynchburg Virginia was spared during the civil war and the historic district is beautiful. The museum is a great collection of items from bygone days from the late 1700's into the 1900's. If you love history, you will love this museum and the surrounding historic district. If you love our shared history, you will love this area. Come see it!
