Located just 25 minutes east of Lynchburg, American Civil War Museum at Appomattox explores the stories of soldiers, civilians, and African-Americans during one of the nation’s most defining periods. Through immersive exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays, visitors can experience the events leading up to and following the Civil War, including the pivotal “Appomattox moment” in April 1865.
