  • « 15th annual Therese Sharp’s Festival of Light

The James River is the largest and most historic river in Virginia. Since the country’s founding at Jamestown it has been an epicenter of activity for the state. This activity on the James would lead to the birth and growth of the city of Lynchburg. Transportation of goods on and along the river would lead Lynchburg to become one of the wealthiest cities in the Nation. From batteaux to canals and railways we explore the city’s riverfront along the James River and how it influenced Lynchburg’s history. Join us on this 75 minute guided walking tour, where we explore the treasures that the Riverfront and Jefferson Street have to offer.

Tour Guide: Vincent Bruno, NAI Certified Interpretive Guide
