Opera on the James: The Three Little Pigs

Opera on the James is coming to the library! Join us for a free performance of The Three Little Pigs, based on scenes from operas by W. A. Mozart, on Sunday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at Timbrook Library.

While brother pigs Don Giovanni and Cherubino set off to make homes of sticks and straw, their sister, Despina, goes to the library to read up on “huff-proof, puff-proof” home construction. After Wolfgang Bigbad blows down the boys’ flimsy homes, they run to their sister’s sturdy new brick house quite ready to admit that going to the library and reading books is a pretty smart thing to do after all. Appropriate for Pre-K through 5th grade.

Opera on the James’ nationally recognized Tyler Young Artist Program is made up of singers chosen from hundreds of applicants for their high level of vocal, musical and theatrical skills. They are ambassadors for opera as an art form for everyone.
