Meet Mary & Llanzo!
Mary is a 24 year old single mom. Her 3 year old son, Llanzo, has autism. She was born and raised in Lynchburg, and after living with different family members for several years, she ended up in Foster Care at a young age. Without family support, a consistent foster home, or stability, Mary was sent from one place to another. Sadly, her story is one of neglect and abuse, and it brings to light gaps in the systems that were created to support people like Mary. We will leave the details for her to share, which she has courageously agreed to do.
On April 13th Mary will be sharing her story in her own words at Mission House Coffee [downtown location]. We will be hosting a Love Heals [benefit] concert to honor her and her son.
With opening performance from Kaleb Merritt and headliner Laruel Mitchell, this night will be one of music, connection, and listening. Our goal is to raise enough funds to get Mary and Llanzo a safe a place to live, as they are facing homelessness.
As always, 100% of every dollar raised will be going directly to our Storyteller.
