First Friday: POWER TOOL RACING BUILD

This First Friday, March 1st, Vector Space is hosting a special building event; BUILD YOUR OWN POWER TOOL RACER! This First Friday requires you to get pumped about the wacky and wonderful sport of Power Tool Racing! Power Tool Racers are built by repurposing old motors from a disregarded power tool, attaching them to wheels and watching them go ZOOM! If you or your family enjoy challenges, likes to be creative, and wants to expand their mechanical knowledge then this activity is for you!

Vector Space will provide guidance on building one Power Tool Racer per family. We can provide some used tools and roller skates but cannot guarantee a set for each family. Please bring your own recycled items when possible. Donations of recycled skates and power tools are welcome! Activities begin at 5pm & end at 8pm. Member guided tours of our unique and inspiring space are available at each of our First Friday events.

All Power Tool Racers will have a chance to race in our Power Tool Race at our 8th annual Lynchburg Maker Faire on March 24th! Not ready to commit to a full Power Tool Racer build? Vector space will also be providing a drop in friendly activity suitable for children or adults. At this station learn to use the yankee hand drill and create collaborative art.
