Festival of Gardening,

May 7, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free
  • « Peggy Haas Howell Organ Recital
  • Festival of Gardening, »

Hill City Master Gardener Association will host the 20th annual Festival of Gardening on Saturday, May 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside Park. Rain or shine, Master Gardeners (MGs) will offer thousands of plants for sale and answer the public’s questions about gardening.
MGs divide perennials and houseplants, grow bedding plants from seed, and care for those plants through sunless days and late frosts. There will be at least 34 different varieties of tomatoes available (heirloom and hybrid), lots of peppers, and many other plants for the vegetable garden. Hostas, exotic tropical plants, and plants known to attract pollinators may be purchased as well. Night blooming cereus, native Jack in the pulpit, harlequin glory bower trees, butterfly weed, and more unusual varieties will also be available. As these offerings are the result of individual MG efforts, some will be in short supply (come early for best selection) and others will have many from which to choose.
