In 1823, the Presbyterian Cemetery was founded by six elders of the Second Presbyterian Church who had a vision of a tranquil landscape for the comfort of the bereaved. Take a stroll through the Presbyterian Cemetery and experience the charm of a park-like atmosphere and a rich history of past people and times. So much of the history of Lynchburg and the surrounding area can be found in the beautiful markers and art sculptures throughout the cemetery grounds. Contact the cemetery directly for a tour or genealogy information. Children Welcome.
