MEET JEFF GRAY, OWNER OF SCENE3 SKATEBOARD AND BICYCLE SHOP
Jeff Gray is the owner of Scene3, a skateboard and bike shop located in Downtown Lynchburg. The boardshop also has a side business called Scene3 Designs where Jeff designs products from recycled skateboards. “All of the reclaimed skateboards are collected from our Skateboard shop, Scene3, located in Lynchburg Virginia. The journey began when I cut up a broken skateboard to make a shoe shelf. It was at that moment I realized that more could be done with this rubbish. From that moment I have been designing and creating rad products from broken skateboards.” Jeff lives in Lynchburg with his wife and two kids and has been skateboarding and riding bikes since middle school. You can often spot him riding to work with his dog Rocket, a Wire Fox Terrier, riding in a crate on the front of his bike.

Jeff’s go-to place to skateboard is the Rotary Centennial Riverfront Skatepark located off of Jefferson St. in Downtown Lynchburg.
FAVORITE LOCAL HIKE?
My favorite hike is Devil’s Marbleyard. It has a great view, and there are plenty of rocks to climb on at the top. It’s also less than an hour’s drive from LYH so you can finish your day downtown.
BEST PLACE ON TWO WHEELS?
My favorite bike trail is Peaks View Park. There are miles of single-track trails right in the heart of town. They recently built a new section with flow trails that has jumps and berms. My second favorite trail is Candler’s Mountain. The trails are more advanced, and they have some epic downhill runs. Be prepared for lots of climbing! Check out our blog post on how to Explore LYH on Two Wheels.

The Ivy Creek Greenway located at Peaksview Park, is apart of the greater James River Heritage Trail and offers both paved and dirt trails for biking and walking.
BEST PLACE TO SHOP FOR OUTDOOR GEAR?
The best place in town for outdoor gear is Outdoor Trails. They have everything you need for hiking, camping, or anything outdoor-related. They have also been in business for more than twenty years, and are super knowledgeable about the gear they sell.

BEST WAY TO ENJOY A WEEKEND OUTDOORS?
I work in retail so my weekends are split between running my shop on Saturday and adventures with family on Sunday. Most of our adventures are short day trips to the mountains, or packing up the bikes and riding the local mountain bike trails. Visit Scene3 Boardshop located at 1107 Main Street in Downtown Lynchburg. #LYHLovesYou
