Lynchburg is ready when you are

Phase 3 of the Forward Virginia state reopening plan began July 1st and Lynchburg is embracing the new normal!  Galleries, restaurants, shops and attractions have been working to create a safe and welcoming environment for their guests and are looking forward to seeing new faces and old friends.

When you are ready to venture out, our hotels are ready for you. To help you make an informed decision on where to stay we’ve put together what some of our hotels are doing to let you feel safe and comfortable while you’re here enjoying one or more of our LYH Legacies that will give you a sense of why we love Lynchburg so much. Restaurants are open too. Tables are set for socially distancing and the weather is cooperating for outdoor dining. Everyone is wiping down surfaces, perfecting their “mask smile” and ready to help visitors feel welcome and secure.

Still need more time to think about your trip?  Take a virtual tour through our website and click on the “Add to Itinerary” button to save those special places you’d like to see when you feel the time is right.  For a moving experience, you can also see what we’re all about with this video tour!

We look forward to seeing you when you’re ready. #LYHVA #readywhenyouare #travelconfidently

We've gathered information below on dining and shopping options, virtual experiences and travel industry information.
Dining & Shopping

Most LYH restaurants and shops are open and observing Forward Virginia Phase 3 protocols. But you may still be tentative about sitting inside a restaurant, so we’ve put together easy access to those restaurants offering drive-thru, pick-up or delivery.  We do recommend calling the restaurant or check the website of any business or venue you want to utilize or attend to check on their services.  Some restaurants are utilizing the services of Grubhub, Doordash and Uber Eats!

Our attractions, museums and historic sites are reopening

Virginia’s Phase 3 allows attractions, museums and other sites reopen with limited capacity, mask wearing and social distancing guidelines.  Places like the Riverviews Artspace, Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, Amazement Square and many others are ready to welcome visitors. Please call ahead or check their websites to check days and hours of operation as some sites have reduced their open times.
Here are some ideas for those still wanting to do outdoor only:

Walk LYH Trail System

Stroll the Old City Cemetery

Kayak the James River

Take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway

We ask a little something of you too

Travel today looks very different than it did just a few months ago and we want you to Travel Confidently. A healthy and safe travel experience is a shared responsibility for all involved with residents, eateries, lodging and travelers needing to work together to ensure everyone is doing their part to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. So we ask that before you travel, check with your hotel to see what protocols they have in place and that you are comfortable with their efforts; call your restaurant or attraction of choice to check their protocols; and then please consider what they are asking of you to help keep their employees and our residents safe.  We are all in this together and thank you for your assistance.
