This arts and business conference gives artists and makers the chance to connect and learn from one another when it comes to building and growing a sustainable art-based business. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from a variety of state and national experts on a wide and interesting array of topics. Register now, and in the meantime, get inspired through the many ways that Lynchburg has to offer!
Riverview Artspace
Riverview Artspace is a great place to get inspired, and on January 31st you can enjoy their monthly open house during First Fridays. They launch new exhibitions and feature local musicians, artists and small businesses. Walk around the art space while soaking in all of the creations from talented artists.
Maier Museum
The Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College holds a variety of art that dates back to 1907. It has an incredible collection of American art, consisting of paintings, works on paper and photographs from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The Collection is able to illustrate the evolution of American art from the early 19th century to present day, so you are able to appreciate all forms of American art and its ranges from impressionism to realism.
Disney’s Frozen Jr.
On Inspire Your Heart With Art Day, you can go out and support the local youth in their performance of Disney’s Frozen Jr. at the Academy Center of the Arts. Being able to witness the younger generation already be inspired by art is so encouraging to our community.

Inspire your heart with music by taking part in the vinyl reemergence happening right under your nose. In a digital age, it’s refreshing to appreciate the hard work that went into creating an album for the love of sharing music. Speakertree offers that experience with their vast variety of vinyl, cassettes, CDs and 45s. You can also sell your records to them if you’re looking to refresh your collection.
Givens Books & Little Dickens
You can also inspire your heart with the art of the written word at Givens Books & Little Dickens, home to Virginia’s largest collection of new and used books. Whether you prefer fiction to nonfiction or older classics to newer narratives, there’s a book for every reader under your roof to enjoy. They also have toys for purchase that include art set supplies, so you can continue to be inspired by art.
Academy Center of the Arts Galleries
The Academy Center of the Arts has a variety of ongoing galleries that you can peruse on this inspirational day. You’ll find numerous exhibits that you can enjoy from various artists who all have their own, unique perspectives when it comes to their work. There are also works of art that are featured at various satellite exhibits around Lynchburg, so you can make a day of it!
