Combine elements of a classic bistro with a casual version of the old supper clubs that were popular in the 1930s and 1940s, you have Jimmy’s on the James. So, this means an atmosphere that encourages socializing and in-house entertainment most nights. The menu includes items such as Lynwood’s Baby Cakes, a blend of scallops, shrimp and crabmeat fried together like crabcake; and Lynchburg City Tavern Pie, a mix of beef, pork, lamb and potatoes served in a pie crust; as well as tequila pressed duck; jambalaya; steaks; pork loin; and salmon. Sandwiches include the Jerked Creole chicken and Bullet Bill’s Burger. They even serve up deep-fried Oreos for dessert.
