American workers left 662 million vacation days on the table last year…and it’s bumming everyone out.
Studies show that American workers, especially Millennials, have a hard time logging off from work. Plus, as Millennials lean in to try to prove themselves in their workspaces, they suffer from vacation guilt and feel like they don’t truly have the opportunity to take time off from work.
We call these people work martyrs. Work martyrs are over worked, stressed out and in desperate need of a vacation day. Work martyrs tend to only vacation once they have met their breaking point. However, taking a vacation day—even just one day—can help them be more productive and more creative.
It’s time for this to change.
Now is the time to take the day off. Now is the time to explore your city. Walk in to that little hole-in-the-wall you’ve always been curious about. Turn off your email and calendar notifications and hit some trails. Walk, bike, run, swim, jump—do whatever you need to do to relax and have fun.
That’s what CRUSH Friday is all about.
