Sometimes the best things start in a bootstrapped way—just a handful of people, a lot of passion and someone willing to share the space to make it happen.
Lynchstock Music Festival has one of those stories.
In 2013, 200 people gathered at The Keep Colony, which was once a shared community and living space for creative minds and businesses. Four bands took to a wooden-pallet stage and everyone in attendance celebrated the spirit of music, art and community.
Fast forward to today, where the same sentiment of music, art and community still applies—but on a much larger scale. The sixth annual Lynchstock Music Festival will take place on October 20, 2018 at the Riverfront Park in Downtown Lynchburg.
Thirty bands will take the stage, with roughly 3,500 festival goers in attendance. And with the James River and the Lynchburg skyline as its backdrop, it’ll be a day you won’t want to miss.

Local Favorites Meet National Headliners
This year, headliners for Lynchstock Music Festival include Dr. Dog and COIN. Known for songs like Heart It Races, Where’d All the Time Go, and The Breeze, Dr. Dog blends an infectious mix of 1960s influence with polished and elaborate arrangements. COIN, best known for songs like Talk Too Much and Run, breaks the Nashville mold by offering music with real human emotions and wide-eyed sincerity.
This year offers some of the biggest acts Lynchstock has seen to-date, but paired with some local and regional favorites that keep attendees coming back year-after-year. Favorites like Joel Robert Kaiser, Devon Gilfillian, Vacation Manor and LA Dies, will take the stage throughout the day, as well as other incredible talents in the lineup.
