In the wintertime, it can be hard to want to leave the coziness of our warm homes, but there are still plenty of things to do and see in the City that will keep you warm. Whether you need an outing for yourself or the whole family, stay warm and explore Lynchburg with these fun activities.
Speakertree
For the music lover, try hanging out at Speakertree and sifting through their extensive record collection. They also carry cassettes, CDs and 45s, as well as vintage clothing. You can purchase a warm beverage from their in-house coffee bar, the Backline Bar, while you look around, or sit back and relax on their comfy couches.
One Way Out Escape Rooms and Locked Up Lynchburg
If you haven’t done an escape room before, Lynchburg offers a couple places where you can go check out this exciting experience. One Way Out Escape Rooms and Locked Up Lynchburg offer a variety of escape rooms that range in difficulty level so you can find the perfect one for you and your crew. Work together to escape the room and have a ton of fun in the process!
SeaQuest
SeaQuest is fun for the whole family. You’ll get to see and interact with animals and marine life from around the world, such as stingrays, tropical fish, otters and sloths. As you meet the animals, you will also be educated on their different eco systems and how you can better help protect their habitats.
Rise Up Climbing
If you’ve been feeling cooped up by the cold weather, a day at Rise Up Climbing may be exactly what you need. All experience levels are welcome. Not only can you climb up the rock wall and try your hand at bouldering, but they also offer yoga classes to help you stretch out and challenge your body even more.
Jump Lynchburg
Going to the local 10,000 square foot indoor trampoline park will also help you unleash your energy and stay warm. Jump Lynchburg is a great option for the whole family. You can jump on the trampolines, take turns facing off on the battle beams, play some dodgeball or basketball or just jump in the foam pits! Make sure to buy some of their special socks for jumping.
Amazement Square
Learning is fun (and inside!) at Amazement Square! You and your kids will enjoy all of the hands-on exhibits, like painting on walls, playing in a rock band, floating in a boat and even creating a rainstorm over downtown Lynchburg. As an added bonus, they even have snacks that are inspired by their exhibits at Café Amaze, and all the prices include tax to help children practice counting, addition, and even work on their budgeting skills.
Lynchburg Salsa
The best way to stay warm is to move your body, but this time you can add some rhythm. Lynchburg Salsa offers salsa lessons and dancing on Thursday nights at Mission House Coffee in Downtown Lynchburg, and it’s only $5! You can learn the basics and then spend the night mastering them and adding onto them week by week. They also offer private lessons if it becomes your new favorite hobby.
