Toys in the Lynchburg Museum Collection
December 2, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Toys are part of the magic of the winter holidays. Children look forward to discovering the offerings of new toys that come with the season, following the tradition Sears began with its first Wishbook in 1933. For many the excitement lasts into adulthood.
This December the Lynchburg Museum is showcasing a variety of its best toys, including McWane family paper dolls from around 1900, a toy fire truck and chief’s car, and a miniature Thornhill wagon. Many of them were purchased at local toy stores like Bragassa’s and S. O. Fisher.
The mini-exhibit will open with a reception on Friday, December 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through the end of the month. Both the reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
