September First Friday: 500 Miles

In recognition of the 50th running of the Virginia 10 Miler, the Lynchburg Museum System is pleased to present a First Fridays exhibit celebrating the history of Lynchburg’s most enduring and beloved foot race. The exhibit will feature artifacts from the race’s 50-year history and highlight the organizers, runners, and community members who have made the event a lasting success since 1974.

The Virginia 10 Miler is excited to invite the public to the launch of the long awaited book capturing the 50 year history of the event. Author Bret Boman will give a special presentation at 5:30pm. Copies will be available for purchase and autograph. Light refreshments served.

“500 Miles: Fifty Years of Running the Virginia 10 Miler” will be on display until October 29, 2024.
