REEL RESILIENCE FILM FEST

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Wednesday and Saturday, repeating until February 8, 2020
This year’s Randolph College 2020 Sara Driver ’77 Digital Filmmaking and Lecture Series: REEL RESILIENCE, taking place in Nichols Theater from February 1st to February 8th, will feature New York based, Emmy Award-winning documentary director Judd Ehrlich. Ehrlich heads his own Brooklyn-based production company, Flatbush Pictures which has produced several award-winning documentaries; some of which will be shown during his upcoming visit to the college. Ehrlich has directed and produced multiple series for ESPN and The CW as well as edited, directed and produced at CBS News. For Ehrlich’s documentaries, Keepers of the Game & We Could Be King, he teamed up to produce films with Tribeca Studios and the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation, which has forged a new model for documentary production. Ehrlich is represented by Saville Productions, joining Fernando Meirelles, Barry Levinson, John Waters and Werner Herzog.

February 5th at 7pm there will be a screening for Cannes Lion Award Film: Keepers of the Game – a documentary on gender bias in lacrosse traditions in Akwesasne Mohawk Territory.
February 8th will be a double feature screening starting at 11 am with Run For Your Life – a tribute to Fred Lebow, Jewish immigrant and his participation with the New York Road Runners and the founding of the New York Marathon. Then at 3pm, Emmy Award and Grand Clio Award: We Could Be King – an intimate and unflinching snapshot of urban America’s education crisis set in the Philadelphia public school system.
All film screenings will be followed by a Q&A session with Judd Ehrlich and selected cast members as well as special guest performances.
Panelists and Performers will include: Hiawatha Johnson Jr., Reed Spool, Meeka Diane, Ed Dunn, Louise Herne McDonald, Tsieboo Herne, Megan Guzik, Wilbert Davis & Raven Crews.All events are free and open to the public!
