Morgan Fletcher’s “Songs to Love By”

February 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free – $15
  • « Galentine’s Day at River Ridge, Thursday February 12th
  • Downtown Lynchburg Walking Ghost Tour »

Amherst Glebe Arts Response and Second Stage present Java & Jazz: Morgan Fletcher’s “Songs to Love By” featuring Morgan Fletcher on vocals and Mark Stephens on piano. Morgan says, “Love is in the air! Romantic love, love among family and friends, and love for self are all celebrated here! Bring your Valentine (by any and all definitions) and enjoy an evening of story and song that will deliver a unique mix of jazz, pop, and Broadway classics.”

Morgan Fletcher recently returned from a stint of performing in the annual Candlelight Processional at EPCOT Village in Disney World. She also appeared last year in two new operatic works. She sang the leading role of “June” in the premiere of Nightcaps: A Musical Drama by Richard Rose and Brooke Vandervelde at Second Stage Amherst, as well as appearing in workshops of Post Pardon: The Opera in Maine. She’s also appeared with Greenbriar Valley Theatre and Wolfbane. Morgan Fletcher was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised between there and Amherst County.

Mark Stephens has been a freelance musician in the Lynchburg area for 20 years, and is currently the pianist at First Christian Church on Rivermont Avenue in Lynchburg.
