High School Summer Scholars Program: Health Sciences

High school students! Secure your spot in the University of Lynchburg’s Health Sciences Summer Scholars Program before our early bird discount ends. This week-long camp will give high school students a chance to explore different health-related fields. Students will get hands-on experience in careers like nursing, PA Medicine, working in public health, athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology, sports medicine, and biomedical sciences. Students will also get to experience what it’s like to be a college student by staying in our newest residence hall and taking part in campus life and student programming.

Academic activities include:
– Providing care to a trauma patient.
– Body composition, assessments lab, and fitness assessments.
– International health and medical ethics.
– The cardiovascular system.
– First-aid and CPR training, and athletic training lab skills.
– Vital signs, clinical care, and the patient simulation lab.
