The 1st Annual Duck Pluck, hosted by Gleaning For The World, is a fun, family-friendly community fundraiser happening Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at American Legion Lake. For just $10, participants can purchase a duck for a chance to win exciting prizes while supporting the Helping Our Neighbors program, which provides direct assistance to hungry families, the homeless, at-risk youth, isolated seniors, veterans, and others in need throughout Central and Southwest Virginia. The free community event will also feature a car show, food trucks, local vendors, carnival-style games, and a kids zone, making it a fun-filled day for the whole family while helping support local families in need.
