E.C. Glass High School Art Collection – Guided Walking Tour

Home to approximately 270 original pieces of art dating from 1895, the collection at E. C. Glass High School tells the story of art in Lynchburg for the past 127 years. It is comprised of art by faculty members, students, alumni, and beloved community artists. Come hear the story of how the collection was started, details on a few of the artists, and information on how the collection is managed today. This 60-minute tour is a rare opportunity to see the art on display throughout the school with Curator Heidi James.
Tours are free, but reservations are required in advance. Visit LynchburgMuseum.org/walking-tours or call (434) 455–6226 to reserve your spot. Each tour is limited to 20 people. Tour includes walking through school hallways, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.
