A Most Sublime Birthday: Celebrating Thomas Jefferson and Natural Bridge

April 11 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

$6 – $13
  • « Sweet Briar Senior Art Exhibition: Handle with Care
  • Misery »

Join a community celebration of all things Jefferson and Natural Bridge with family-friendly activities along Cedar Creek trail. Natural Bridge State Park joins America in its 250th birthday celebration by honoring Thomas Jefferson, the author of our Declaration of Independence and the first owner of the Natural Bridge.

There will be family friendly activities such as quill writing, art, and a spy station with coding. Discover how Saltpeter Cave was used to make gunpowder, help rangers run an experiment with weathering to see how the Natural Bridge was made, and more.

Complete activities to win a prize, and enjoy birthday cake and ice cream while supplies last. As we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday we look to honor our area’s connection to our forefathers. There is history to explore and stories to discover at Natural Bridge State Park.

All activities are free with regular park admission: $9 for adults (those 13 and older) and $6 for children (those 12 and younger). This event is sponsored by the Friends of Natural Bridge State Park and Rockbridge Area Tourism.
