Lynchburg is Trending Excitement!

The Lynchburg region is home to numerous significant annual, uniquely local and culturally significant events and festivals.  Our bustling downtown art scene supports galleries, artist studios, acclaimed theatres, vibrant symphony, National Medal winning Children’s Museum and a nationally recognized Opera company.  Plus regional treasures like the National D-Day Memorial, Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, Patrick Henry’s Red Hill and many others, produce unique annual events designed to entertain with just a hint of education.

Lynchburg’s contemporary art galleries at Riverviews Artspace and the Academy Center of the Arts are just two of the many stops during First Fridays Lynchburg, a monthly event happening in the James River Arts & Culture District.

Outdoor concerts and festivals along the James River make our scene.  With the Academy Center of the Arts' Riverfront Concert Series and the Lynchburg Launch of the James River Batteau Festival, we serve up the eclectic and historic all in one location.

And Lynchburg is quickly becoming the place for large sporting events.  The Virginia Commonwealth Games brings thousands to the city for a weekend of competition in which some will leave with shiny gold, silver or bronze medals!  If you are a runner, you won’t want to miss the Genworth Virginia 10 Miler taking a few thousand people through the beautiful streets of Lynchburg.
