With only 30 days until the beginning of the season, the Lynchburg Hillcats announced plans for the team's annual FanFest, which will be held Saturday, April 1. Admission is free, and the event is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a free hot dog.
At the beginning of the event, the Hillcats will host their annual Media Home Run Derby, featuring local personalities from television, print, and radio. Following the home run derby, ALL fans can take part in batting practice on the field just like the pros.
When they're not taking their swings on the field, children can have fun in the all-new Kids' Zone at City Stadium, which features an inflatable obstacle course, a bounce house, and a brand-new speed pitch.
FanFest will also feature giveaways throughout the afternoon and free activities for fans of all ages to enjoy, such as ballpark tours. Upon entry into the stadium, fans can register on the concourse to be eligible for free prizes, which will be given out every 30 minutes. All those who register will have the chance to win caps, T-shirts and more.
